Job summary

The Forward Trust is seeking a compassionate Women’s Outreach Worker to support women facing homelessness and complex challenges across Southend City. You will use trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches to build trust and help women access the services they need.

In collaboration with statutory and voluntary providers, you will help women navigate systems, access housing, health and social support, and work toward greater safety, stability and independence.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of needs of women who are rough sleeping, begging or selling sex.
• Understanding of at least one area such as substance misuse, mental health or sex work.
• Awareness of challenges faced by people with multiple needs and complex barriers.
• Knowledge of strengths-based and asset-building approaches.
• Experience with multi-agency working and maintaining professional boundaries.
• Good administrative, recording and reporting skills with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Engage with women to understand needs and supervise support plans.
• Collaborate with services to access housing, health and social support.
• Navigate complex systems and advocate for coordinated care.
• Maintain confidential case records and uphold safeguarding.
