Job summary

Keys Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for Acorns Ashley School in Knutsford. You will support learners with complex needs, assisting teachers to deliver education and care in a nurturing setting. The role focuses on trauma-informed approaches to support wellbeing and educational progress.

The school serves pupils aged 5–17 with diverse needs, including communication difficulties and challenging behaviour. A Level 3 TA qualification is advantageous; DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Two years’ SEND experience minimum.
  • Level 3 TA qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pupils with learning activities under teacher guidance.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches.
  • Help manage behaviour in line with the school’s policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Encourage pupil engagement and independence in learning tasks.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.
  • Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment.
