Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment seeks an experienced Specialist Navigator to support women affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, and gender-based violence in Camden, London. The role is community-based with regular outreach and lone-working requirements, reporting to the Domestic Abuse Navigator team lead.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people affected by domestic abuse, gender-based violence and/or multiple disadvantages.
• Experience of outreach work, safeguarding, risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention.
• Ability to build trusting relationships using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
• Understanding of the impact of abuse on survivors and children, and the barriers vulnerable people face when accessing services.
• Strong communication, advocacy and multi-agency partnership-working skills.
• Resilience and the ability to manage complex cases sensitively and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Manage a small, intensive caseload, building trusting relationships with survivors and supporting them at their own pace.
• Provide safety planning, risk assessments, crisis intervention and support to reduce the risk of further abuse.
• Conduct regular community outreach to engage women who may struggle to access traditional support services.
• Support survivors with housing issues, homelessness prevention, tenancy sustainment, benefits and budgeting.
• Help women rebuild confidence, reduce isolation and access education, training and employment.
• Coordinate referrals and work closely with housing services, social services, healthcare professionals, substance misuse services and criminal justice agencies.
• Advocate for survivors and their children, accompanying them to appointments, meetings and court where required.
• Maintain accurate case records and coordinate multi-agency support to achieve positive outcomes.
