Job summary

Local Solutions in Liverpool is seeking compassionate Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVA) to join our specialist domestic abuse service. You will work with high-risk victim-survivors, providing trauma-informed, person-centred support to help them feel heard, safe and empowered.

The role involves risk assessments, safety planning and crisis intervention, while collaborating with partner agencies to secure outcomes and accessible support across the community.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting victim-survivors of domestic abuse or other vulnerable groups.
• Strong understanding of domestic abuse, safeguarding, risk management and trauma-informed practice.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with people experiencing trauma.
• Commitment to empowering victim-survivors and supporting their goals.
• Strong advocacy, communication, assessment and case management skills.
• Ability to work with multiple partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to victim-survivors of high-risk domestic abuse.
• Undertake risk assessments, develop and review safety plans, provide crisis intervention.
• Advocate to ensure victim-survivors' voices and choices are heard and acted upon.
• Build trusting relationships and work with partner agencies to coordinate support.
• Manage a varied caseload with excellent organisational skills.
