Job summary

Oasis Community Housing in Gateshead is seeking a Housing First Worker to coordinate and deliver a person-centred, trauma-informed support service. The role aims to create long-term sustainable tenancies by empowering customers, increasing independence, and connecting them with the local community.

You will report to the Housing First Team Leader, work 37 hours per week on a 7-day rota, and bring at least two years' support work experience, knowledge of housing first principles, and experience

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a support worker.
• Solid understanding of housing first principles.
• Experience using person-centred support plans.
• Awareness of worklessness impact on homeless people (desirable).
• Knowledge of drug and alcohol misuse.
• Knowledge of mental health issues (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver trauma-informed, personalised support to customers with complex needs.
• Help customers secure sustainable tenancies and increase independence.
• Engage with local services to maximise community connectivity.
• Report to Housing First Team Leader and maintain case records.
