Job description

The Transport Trainer is responsible for delivering behavioural and technical training to all members of the Transport Teams, ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence across all transport functions.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all drivers and managers are trained to meet regulatory standards, including legal compliance and audit readiness.
  • Design and deliver Driver CPC training both virtually and in person, aligned with JAUPT requirements.
  • Conduct and manage agency Green Card assessments to verify driver competence and uphold site procedures.
  • Provide technical upskilling for managers, supporting leadership teams with transport processes and operational best practices.
  • Lead and document risk assessments across all store formats (Supermarkets, Superstores, Express, and Petrol Filling Stations), collaborating with site and store teams.
  • Administer and report on training activities, including scheduling, compliance tracking, and adapting to operational changes.
  • Deliver training on technical skills, including vehicle operations, transport systems, and procedural standards.
  • Analyse training data to identify gaps and align learning with operational needs.
  • Act as an ambassador for Asda, supporting depots in achieving performance indicators related to training, safety, and compliance.
  • Prepare training materials and documents using standard office software and summarise data for reporting and evaluation.
  • Design and maintain high‑quality training resources, ensuring effective learning outcomes and continuous improvement.
