The role

As a Transport Support Pool Coordinator - Administrator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join the Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) Business Unit at Devonport, driving essential facility development for the future MOD ship and submarine programmes. Be part of a team designing, building, and commissioning docking and berthing facilities for Astute Class submarine maintenance.


Day-to-day, you’ll manage MOD transport vehicle administration in a customer-facing role, overseeing bookings, issuing, returns, inspections, and defect reporting. Audit usage records (ATUDS) and escalate discrepancies or misuse.

  • Support transport vehicle administration in a customer-facing role.
  • Manage booking, issuing, and return of Ministry of Defence (MoD) vehicles.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and report defects or accident damage.
  • Audit and file vehicle usage records (ATUDS), escalating discrepancies or misuse.


This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.


Essential experience of the Transport Support Pool Coordinator - Administrator

  • Ability to interrogate and audit paperwork effectively.
  • Preferable working knowledge of JSP800 (MOD Vehicle fleet policy).
  • MOD Motor Transport Supervisor training preferred, with the option to complete once in post.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.


Qualifications for the Transport Support Pool Coordinator - Administrator

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification in Business, Administration, or a relevant field.
  • GCSEs/O Levels A-C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence.
