Job summary

Gi Group UK is seeking a Transport Supervisor in Derby for a temporary role with a potential temp-to-perm for the right candidate. You will support day-to-day transport operations, ensuring deliveries run safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance standards.

The role involves supervising drivers, coordinating workloads, and maintaining transport records, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance. Monday to Friday shifts, Derby location, pay discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transport supervisor/coordination/planning role.
• Knowledge of UK transport compliance (drivers' hours, tachograph, WTD).
• Good communication and ability to manage drivers and priorities.
• Organised, proactive, able to stay calm under pressure.
• Competent with transport systems and basic admin/IT.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily transport activity, coordinating drivers and workload to meet service levels.
• Ensure compliance with drivers' hours, tachograph regulations and Working Time Directive (WTD).
• Manage driver brief/debrief and address shift issues.
• Liaise with transport team to keep goods moving and resolve delays.
• Maintain accurate transport paperwork and records (PODs, incident reports, KPI data).
• Support vehicle checks/defect reporting and coordinate maintenance needs.
