Qualifications

  • Previous transport supervision experience required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members in English.
  • Understanding of transport management systems is a plus.
  • Good computer skills are essential, especially in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Transport Manager with driver allocation.
  • Complete driver wages/holidays.
  • Monitor drivers' daily activity and paperwork.
  • Assist with agency bookings and costings.
  • Ensure driver infringements are understood and signed.
  • Input and monitor driver working time into Excel.
  • Book vehicle inspections and MOTs.
  • Report defects and near misses.
  • Order site fuel and work with cross-transport network.

We are currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our Transport team at Hams Hall.

Shift Available:

Sunday to Thursday Nights 22:00 - 06:00

The role

In this role you will assist the Transport Manager with the following duties:

  • Driver allocation.

  • Completing Driver wages/holidays.

  • Monitoring drivers’ daily activity including unauthorised stops & ensuring drivers paperwork is completed fully and accurately.

  • Assisting with agency bookings, costings & spend; ensuring agency disclaimers and filled in and filed correctly.

  • Ensuring driver infringements are printed, understood and signed.

  • Inputting & monitoring driver working time & driving time directive into Excel.

  • Driver electronic pad training.

  • Booking vehicle inspections & MOT’s internally and externally.

  • Reporting Defects.

  • Reporting RTA’s and Near misses.

  • Ordering site fuel.

  • Working with your peers around the transport network to deliver service to our customers.

Who we're looking for:

  • Someone with previous transport supervision experience.

  • Someone who likes to get things right first time, so attention to detail is key.

  • Experience in managing drivers hours/legislation.

  • You to be able to communicate clearly with other team members in English.

  • If you understand Transport Management systems, that would be helpful – though a willingness to learn and plenty of initiative will take you far in our ambitious team.

  • As a target-focused individual, you’ll be comfortable meeting tight deadlines. This also means that you’ll be a team-player who is keen to get things done.

  • Good IT skills are essential. Excel, Word, and Outlook are particularly important.

  • Above all else, you’ll share our determination to keep our customers and colleagues happy, so a can-do attitude with brilliant communication and organisation skills is essential.
