Job summary

Carrington West is assisting a London employer to appoint an experienced Transport Planning Officer on a permanent, full-time basis. The role focuses on promoting sustainable transport development from pre-planning through to planning consent and working with developers to deliver robust planning outcomes.

You will provide technical expertise for s38 and s278 highway designs, liaise with key bodies, and support assessments such as Transport Statements, Travel Plans and Parking Studies to

Qualifications

• Experience as a Transport Planning Officer in local government or private sector.
• Knowledge of planning policy, Local Plan and MTS.
• Experience with pre-planning, planning consent and sustainable transport.

Responsibilities

• Promote and advise sustainable transport development from pre-planning to planning consent.
• Provide technical expertise to the approval process for s38 and s278 highway designs and agreements.
• Liaise with developers and key bodies to deliver quality developments and a robust planning policy framework.
• Provide day-to-day support in assessing concept studies, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Parking Studies.

Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Planning Officer to join them on a Permanent Contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• To promote and adviseonsustainable transport development, from the pre-planning stage through to planning consent, to guide sustainable future development.
• Providing technicalexpertisetotheapproval process fors38 and s278 highway designs and agreementsto ensurethese are delivered to the relevant standards,policiesand legal requirements.
• Liaison with developers and other key bodies in the delivery of quality developments and a robust planning policy framework as outlined in the new Local Plan and the Mayor's Transport Strategy (MTS).
• Providing day-to-day support in assessing concept studies/strategies, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Parking Studies,which contributeto compelling written formal planning responses.
