Responsibilities

• Efficiently allocate drivers, vehicles, and loads using in-house IT systems.
• Communicate transport plans to internal teams and external clients.
• Manage staffing levels to meet operational requirements.
• Approve and audit driver hours for compliance.
• Liaise with key departments for seamless operations.
• Participate in cross-training and support team cover.
• Promote continuous improvement across transport operations.
• Maintain health, safety, and housekeeping practices.
• Conduct thorough driver debriefs and update manifests and KPIs.

Skills

Proven experience in a similar transport/logistics role

Strong knowledge of The Highway Code

Strong knowledge of EU Tachograph Regulations

Strong knowledge of Working Time Directive

Strong knowledge of Road Transport Regulations

Familiarity with transport operation systems

Good UK geographic knowledge

Understanding of Health and Safety regulations

Analytical problem-solving skills
