Shift work 4 on 4 off - Days 7.00am - 7.00pm and Nights 7.00pm - 7.00am

Our client is seeking a Transport Planner to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring all daily collections and delivery requirements are met. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating effectively across all departments to address operational issues and support the department in adhering to all legal compliances.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan and manage vehicles for Import collections and Export deliveries.
  • Arrange ADHOC temperature-controlled collections under GDP compliance.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, dealing with both internal and external customers.
  • Ensure compliance with DVSA, WTD, and UK legislation.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor in a pressured, time-driven environment.
  • Support all aspects of Health & Safety in the workplace, monitoring and enforcing safe systems of work for drivers.
  • Utilise IT skills to manage Transport Management systems and maintain records using MS Office programs including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in scheduling, preferably within the air freight industry.
  • Good understanding of LHR and the Ground Handling Agents that service the airlines and their handling requirements.
  • Full understanding of Aviation Security regulation and ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Proven history in freight forwarding with a forward-thinking attitude.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • IT generalist knowledge, ideally with experience in Transport Management systems.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Attention to detail, customer service, administration, and financial awareness.
  • 5-year checkable work history.
  • CRB check required.
