Job description

Our client is looking for a Transport Planner to work at a location in Portsmouth.

Key Responsibilities for the position include:

• To plan all the jobs in line with SLA’s to maximise business efficiency and margin
• To work with your allocated drivers ensuring that they have the best jobs allocated to them given their location and preferences
• To fully support the planning team such that all drivers have appropriate plans in place in advance.
• The day to day management of the drivers and the job planning process ensuring that;
  • Customer collections and deliveries are completed on time
  • Clients are communicated with inline with best practise and SLA’s
  • Vehicle route planning is the most efficient possible with downtime, additional mileage and cost minimised.
  • Drivers are fully supported both by allocating jobs in advance and responding quickly and sympathetically to any issues.
• To provide the agreed additional out of normal office hours cover that is required to support the drivers and ensure efficient planning
