Job description

Job Title: Transport Planner

Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire

Salary: GBP32,000 to GBP38.000 per annum - depending on Experience.

Bonuses: GBP6.600 per year extra for on call bonus

Job Type: Fulltime permanent. (Shift pattern can be negotiated)

Transport Planner - Requirements
  • MUST have experience with Transport Planner role
  • Proven experience in container haulage planning
  • Proficient IT skills - experience using TOPS is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to lead and mentor other planners with the team
  • Proficient ability in using industry standard IT
  • Flexibility to participate in on-call duties
  • Strong team player with good communication -Ability to work under pressure
  • A good Understanding of the local geographical area would be advantageous
  • Experience in Planning / Routing and managing a fleet of vehicles.
  • Can multi-Task and prioritise duties.
Transport Planner - Responsibilities
  • Plan and allocate daily container haulage work across the company fleet.
  • Managing the in-house systems and databases
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors.
  • Managing and maintaining office files
  • Ensuring high levels of customer service with their clients and ensuring a high level of performance is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that all jobs are documented correctly.
  • Planning the workload on a daily basis for the site
  • Ensuring adherence to corporate policies as well as legal requirements for vehicle operations, health & safety, and other regulations.
  • Utilising drivers and vehicles for deliveries and pickups in an efficient manner
