Transport Planner – Transport Department

A vacancy has arisen within the Transport department for a Transport Planner, working alongside the existing members of the Transport team. You will join our client on a full‑time, permanent basis, and in return you will receive a competitive salary and benefits.

Role Overview

The Transport Planner role: This position will suit a person with transport and vehicle routing knowledge. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with set work‑at‑home days once full training is completed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan the drivers and fleet both onsite and at the regional out‑based depots to achieve set planned deliveries nationwide.
  • Efficiently route the fleet to maximise and maintain customer service whilst ensuring legal compliance with driver working hours and fuel utilisation.
  • Adjust plans daily to accommodate changes.
Qualifications
  • Good national geographical and postcode knowledge.
  • Experience of planning vehicles nationwide.
  • A background in transport planning.
  • Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to manage your own work time to achieve timed daily duties.
  • Able to work within a small team.
  • Confident communicator and proactive problem‑solver, with a knack for planning, precision, and keeping operations running smoothly— even under pressure.
  • Quick thinker with the ability to manage multiple activities into an overall plan.
