Transport Planner - Immediate Start!

Join a Stable, Family-Run Haulage Company (130+ Years)

Job Summary

An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join a small, close-knit team at a highly respected and long-established family-run haulage company (operating for over 130 years).

We are seeking a proactive Transport Planner for an immediate start to support our operations in the Sturton by Stow, Lincolnshire area.

Starting Salary: Minimum GBP37,000 Plus per annum (Depending on Experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Load Planning: Provide support in the planning of loads and routes to maximise vehicle utilisation.

  • Compliance: Assist in ensuring all planned loads comply with Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.

  • Customer Engagement: Proactively communicate with customers to ensure excellent customer relationships and quickly deal with and resolve any service issues, incidents, or accidents.

  • Business Development: Assist in the development of new customer leads, including support with tenders and customer presentations.

  • Driver Support: Assist in completing driver debriefs and arranging driver training where required.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, capable of demonstrating strong written and verbal skills, and ready to work effectively within a small team environment.

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Previous transport experience is essential.

  • The ability to work under your own initiative and to thrive under pressure.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and HGV Drivers.

  • A strong team player who is capable of working well within a small, close-knit team dynamic.

Desirable Skills:
  • Holding a Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is highly desirable.

  • Experience using a Transport Management Software platform.
