Overview

Elvet Recruitment have been appointed to recruit a Transport Manager for the regional division of a £75m waste company in Sheffield. Independently-owned and with a strong family business ethos. This is an exciting time to join this team who currently expanding due to a strong standing within the industry and excellent reputation for the quality of work delivered to their clients.

Main Duties
  • Adhere to and implement group Health & Safety Policies.
  • Plan and coordinate efficient, cost-effective vehicle scheduling and routing to maximise utilisation.
  • Organise and allocate driver and operative resources effectively for designated areas.
  • Accurately complete all required collection documentation, both paper-based and digital.
  • Maintain full compliance with transport regulations, including vehicle maintenance and drivers' hours.
  • Collaborate with regional administration teams to ensure seamless transport operations and documentation.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Work collaboratively with other managers across the business to meet their transport needs.
  • Ensure all driver training requirements are current and fully compliant.
Skills and Experience
  • Holder of a valid CPC qualification.
  • Understanding of ADR regulations and the transport requirements for Dangerous Goods.
  • Dedicated to upholding CSG's Health & Safety standards.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective and clear communicator.
  • Proficient in using computer systems.
  • Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in a transport office is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Experience within the waste sector is desirable but not essential, with training available.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Field Service, or similar work planning systems is desirable.
Role Information
  • £36,000 - £38,000 DOE
  • 40 hour per week
  • Full time Permanent
  • 33 days holiday inclusive of public bank holidays.
