Job summary

Reed in Northampton is recruiting an experienced Transport Compliance Manager to oversee driver and vehicle compliance for a 12-vehicle fleet. The role is permanent with clear progression and a competitive package.

You'll ensure compliance with Drivers' Hours Regulations, manage tachograph data, vehicle maintenance, and coach drivers to uphold safety, efficiency and regulatory standards within a growing operation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with transport legislation and Working Time Directive.
• Review tachograph data, investigate infringements, and coach drivers.
• Manage vehicle compliance, including PMIs, MOTs, LOLER inspections and tachograph calibrations.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs to minimise downtime.
• Review compliance documentation and take corrective action where needed.
• Support driver performance management, recruitment and retention.
• Promote a strong compliance and safety culture across the operation.

Transport Compliance Manager

Location: Northampton

Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 + Annual Bonus

We are recruiting for an experienced Transport Compliance Manager on behalf of a well-established national distribution business.

This is an exciting opportunity created through the internal promotion of the current Transport Manager, offering genuine career progression within a successful and growing operation.

You'll take ownership of all driver and vehicle compliance activities across a fleet of 12 vehicles and a team of drivers, ensuring the transport operation remains safe, efficient and fully compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, Drivers' Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
• Review tachograph data, investigate infringements and coach drivers where required.

About You

You’ll have:

• Previous experience within transport or fleet compliance.

Essential

• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• Transport Manager CPC.
• Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• IOSH or other Health & Safety qualification.
