Job summary

Britvic plc in Farnborough is seeking a Transport Manager to lead transport operations, ensuring safety, compliance and efficiency. You will manage vehicle and driver compliance, develop delivery plans and monitor KPIs while supporting a safety-first culture.

The role requires a valid Transport Manager CPC, strong IT skills (SAP, Microlise, MS Office) and experience in fleet management. Flexible, collaborative leadership and strong organisational ability are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current CPC Transport Manager certificate.
• Strong ability to communicate and engage with colleagues and external contacts.
• Experience with IT systems such as SAP, Microlise and MS Office.
• Clean Category C licence is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Experience managing a team of distribution operatives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to and training is up to date.
• Conduct investigations and disciplinary hearings with proper documentation.
• Maintain fleet documentation including vehicle check sheets and risk assessments.
• Handle administrative duties for fleet compliance and KPI monitoring.
• Ensure adherence to the Goods Vehicles Operators Licensing Act regulations.
• Manage delivery crews and shift times to cover transport tasks.
• Oversee delivery planning for cost efficiency and compliance.

Job Title: Transport Manager
Location: Farnborough, GU14 6JF
Job Length: Permanent
Working Hours: 45 hours on average per week, predominantly working on a Monday to Friday basis, however, flexibility required to work any 5 days in a 7 day period. Start times to vary to suit business needs.

About the role:

We are looking for a people focused manager, ensuring we have the right people, with the right training, doing the right things, at the right time. Maintain a high level of vehicle and driver compliance and ensure safety is at the forefront of any task. This is an operation and transport compliance role so experience in both is needed. Reporting to theDepot Manager, this role will play a key part of our succuss journey and you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following.

Role Responsibilities

• Ensuring all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to, and all employee training is kept up to date.
• Carrying out investigations and disciplinary hearings including completion of relevant documents.
• Maintaining and updating fleet documentation including but not limited to vehicle check sheets, vehicle condition, training records, driver licences, risk assessments, health and safety, purchase order numbers.
• Administrative duties surrounding fleet compliance and team members including the implementation and monitoring of KPI’s.
• Ensure that regulations relating to vehicles within the scope of the goods vehicles licensing of operator’s act are adhered to.
• Managing delivery crews and support staff.
• Managing shift times ensuring coverage of all Transport tasks.
• Oversee the delivery plan ensuring it’s the most cost effective and efficient plan whilst maintaining all compliance measures.

Experience and Key Attributes

• Must be a current and valid Transport Manager CPC holder.
• Ability to communicate clearly and engage with a broad spectrum of contacts both internally and externally.
• Experience with IT Systems such as, Microsoft Office, SAP, Microlise.
• Clean Category C Licence is desirable.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Works well both individually and as part of a larger team.
• Collaborative and flexible mindset, willing to help team members when needed.
• Someone that has good organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise the work of self and others.
• Experience of managing a team of distribution operatives.
