Job summary

Univar Solutions in Cumbernauld, near Glasgow, is seeking a Transport Supervisor to oversee day-to-day deliveries and safety within our driver teams. You will manage end-to-end customer deliveries, ensure adherence to budgets, and support the site Operations Manager as needed.

The role offers potential progression to Operations Management, with emphasis on driving efficiency, safety compliance, and high service levels within the UK network.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance and safety targets are met
• Manage a small operational driver team
• End-to-end management of customer deliveries from plan receipt to delivery
• Address delivery fails and implement contingency plans
• Provide direction and leadership for the driver team
• Review performance against objectives for drivers
• Operate within budgets and support related analysis
• Collaborate with the wider Univar transport function and share best practices
• Support personal development plans for the team
• Be prepared to deputise for the site Operations Manager

Duties

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Supervisor in Cumbernauld, Glasgow. In this role you will manage the day-to-day deliveries of products to our customers, always ensuring safety and compliance within our operational driver teams. You will support our operational driver teams, as required, to ensure that their role can be completed to the best of their ability, together with interacting with customers to ensure that the deliveries are completed successfully to support service levels. This role also provides a potential pathway to Operations Management.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Ensure compliance and safety targets are met
• Manage a small operational driver team
• Manage the end-to-end process of customer deliveries, from receiving the plan to ensuring delivery
• Manage delivery fails and plan to reduce where possible
• Manage additional equipment to ensure your team of drivers have the correct equipment to complete their role
• Provide direction, focus and leadership for your team of drivers
• To review performance against agreed objectives for your team of drivers
• To operate within agreed budgets and support relevant analysis
• Be an effective team member of the wider Univar transport function and share ideas and best practice around the network
• Ensure the needs of your personal development plan are met
• Ensure driver engagement levels are maintained and improved where possible
• Provide support to/deputise for the site Operations Manager
