Join a leading logistics and transport organisation as a Transport Manager, overseeing operations within the expanding transport division. This role is perfect for an experienced professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of drivers.
  • Ensure full compliance with transport regulations, driver hours, and safety policies.
  • Monitor fuel usage and manage vehicle maintenance schedules.
  • Liaise with third-party maintenance providers.
  • Analyse delivery performance and implement continuous improvements.
  • Resolve escalated issues and customer complaints.
  • Conduct driver performance reviews, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate regular management reports.
  • Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant.
  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding of new drivers.
Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid Transport Manager CPC.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a transport management or supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of transport regulations, compliance, and health & safety legislation.
  • Experience with third-party maintenance providers (e.g., Scania, DAF, Mercedes).
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on performance improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to work alternate Saturday shifts (07:00 – 13:00), paid at an overtime rate for the whole day.
