Sure Call Recruitment is seeking a Transport First Line Manager for a premium supermarket logistics hub in Greenford, West London. You will lead transport and distribution operations, reporting to the Transport Operations Manager to ensure deliveries are safe, legal, and on time.

The role requires 2+ years of supervising large teams in high-volume logistics, with strong people-management and knowledge of driver hours and transport compliance.

Qualifikationen

• Transport operations: manage dispatch schedules, driver allocations, and delivery windows.
• Safety and compliance: ensure driver hours, tachographs, vehicle checks and transport legislation are followed.
• Team management: lead briefings, monitor attendance, and motivate staff.
• Customer service: resolve delivery issues quickly and maintain high service standards.
• Performance and KPIs: monitor driver performance, fuel efficiency and vehicle damage.

• £40,000 per year

Job details

• Hours 37.5 hours per week
• Working pattern 5 days out of 7, including some weekends

Shift Times

• 4:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

About the role

Lead transport and distribution operations at a premium supermarket logistics hub in Greenford. You will report to the Transport Operations Manager and ensure deliveries run safely, legally and on time.

Main responsibilities

• Transport operations - Manage dispatch schedules, driver allocations and delivery windows.
• Safety and compliance - Ensure driver hours, tachographs, vehicle checks and transport legislation are followed.
• Team management - Lead briefings, manage attendance and absence, and motivate drivers and transport staff.
• Customer service - Resolve delivery issues quickly and maintain high service standards.
• Performance and KPIs - Monitor driver performance, fuel efficiency and vehicle damage.

What you need

• At least 2 years of supervisory or team leader experience.
• Background in transport, multi-drop delivery, FMCG or high-volume logistics.
• Strong people-management and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of driver hours, vehicle safety and transport compliance.
• IT skills, including Transport Management Systems (TMS) and spreadsheets.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends.
