Transport & Logistics Coordinator

Are you an organised, proactive planner with a passion for logistics? We're looking for a Transport & Logistics Coordinator to take the lead in scheduling deliveries, optimising fleet performance, and ensuring our customers receive their products on time, every time.
This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where no two days are the same — perfect for someone who thrives on coordination, communication, and problem‑solving.
What You'll Be Doing
Fleet & Delivery Coordination
- Plan and schedule daily and weekly deliveries for a fleet of bulk tankers across the UK.
- Liaise with external haulage partners to cover additional transport needs.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed efficiently, safely, and on time.
- Monitor fleet performance and driver hours to maintain compliance and productivity.
Customer & Internal Communication
- Communicate proactively with customers about delivery times, order updates, and any potential delays.
- Work closely with Production, Packaging, and Warehouse teams to align delivery schedules with manufacturing output.
- Support the invoicing process and resolve any order or billing queries promptly and professionally.
Planning & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain export documentation including Commercial Invoices, CMRs, and Dangerous Goods Notes (DGNs).
- Keep accurate records using SAGE200 and the internal filing system to ensure full traceability and compliance.
- Confirm loaded and delivered weights daily, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Verify that Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDIs) are completed before dispatch.
Optimisation & Improvement
- Analyse customer order trends and telemetry data to forecast and plan deliveries proactively.
- Identify opportunities to reduce transport costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor delivery performance and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
Teamwork & Compliance
- Collaborate with drivers, allocating routes and start times while addressing issues quickly and professionally.
- Follow all Health & Safety, environmental, and compliance procedures.
- Support colleagues with goods‑in processes and wider logistics tasks as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or fleet management.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confident using logistics or ERP systems (experience with SAGE200 is a plus).
- A proactive mindset with a focus on efficiency and customer service.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
