Job summary

A leading environmental services company is seeking a Transport Coordinator for the PM shift to manage driver welfare and operational communication. The ideal candidate should have strong route planning skills, data analysis knowledge, and effective customer service experience. This role offers a salary of £28,000 per annum plus additional benefits, including 20 days of annual leave and various health resources.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for drivers when lead driver is unavailable.
  • Assist with toolbox talk compliance and deliver business messages to drivers.
  • Ensure timely completion of KPI sheets and fuel/mileage trackers.
  • Modify work assignments as needed and communicate changes to drivers.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal and external customers.
  • Resolve complaints/issues promptly and update customers on ETA changes.
  • Liaise with drivers on daily ETA updates and coordinate workshops.
  • Participate in customer meetings with management team.

Salary: £28,000 per annum, plus Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 14:30pm - 23:00pm (1 in 3 saturdays)

Location: Central Depot, Baths Road, Bromley, BR2 9RB

What you'll be doing
  • Serve as primary point of contact for drivers when lead driver and Transport Controller are unavailable, and manage day-to-day welfare issues for drivers and team members.
  • Assist with toolbox talk compliance, deliver business messages to drivers, and maintain strong verbal and written communication (face-to-face, phone, email) with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely completion of KPI sheets, fuel/mileage trackers, and demurrage sheets without allowing backlogs to accumulate.
  • Modify work assignments as needed, communicate changes effectively to drivers, and plan proactively rather than reactively to stay ahead of operational needs.
  • Maintain strong regular communication with internal and external customers, provide appropriate advice while consulting management when necessary.
  • Maintain Veolia's customer focus value through a customer-first approach, resolve complaints/issues promptly, and update customers on ETA changes to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Communicate effectively between internal and external customers, liaise with drivers on daily ETA updates, and coordinate with internal/external workshops as needed.
  • Participate in customer meetings with VHL management team, develop and maintain strong customer relationships, and ensure company image, reputation, and achievements are represented to maximum effect.
