Job description

Are you an organised problem‑solver with a sharp eye for detail and a knack for keeping things moving smoothly? Do you thrive in a busy environment where every day brings a new challenge? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

At P&A Group, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent service to our customers and ensuring that everything we do reflects our values of Quality, Progressive, Service, Working Together and Wellbeing. We’re looking for a proactive and commercially mindedTransport Co‑Ordinator to take ownership of our day‑to‑day transport operations – making sure deliveries go out on time and in the most efficient way possible.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll be the link between hauliers, the warehouse, and customer service – ensuring our logistics run seamlessly from start to finish. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

  • Planning efficient delivery routes that meet customer expectations and service levels.
  • Liaising with hauliers to confirm routes, negotiate rates and manage changes.
  • Coordinating with customers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve issues quickly.
  • Sending clear, accurate manifests to the warehouse to keep everything on track.
  • Monitoring order status and keeping hauliers updated to avoid congestion and delays.
  • Reviewing complaints and analysing data to identify ways to reduce damages in transit.
  • Preparing KPIs and reports to highlight performance, costs and efficiencies.
  • Champion continuous process improvements, with a zero waste mindset.

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be at the centre of the action – working closely with colleagues, suppliers and customers to keep our operations running at their best.

Who we’re looking for

We’re after someone with a practical mindset, good attention to detail and the ability to think on their feet. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Experience in a transport planning or logistics role.
  • Sound IT skills, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of SAP B1, ERP systems, or load planning software.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • A confident, professional communicator who can build strong relationships with hauliers, colleagues and customers.
  • Commercial awareness – able to balance service, efficiency and cost.
  • A positive, solution‑focused attitude with a calm approach to challenges.

Knowledge of TMS systems would be a bonus, but we’re just as interested in your ability to problem‑solve, think logically, and deliver results.

What can we offer to you?

You’ll be part of an award‑winning business with a strong focus on staff development, engagement and consistent values. We know our employees are our most valuable asset and we encourage every member of the team to use their skills and knowledge to flourish and build a successful future together. You’ll also benefit from:

  • Salary between £29,000 to £31,000 per annum.
  • Permanent contract, working 42.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
  • Ample free car parking on site.
  • Employee healthcare cash plan (Medicash).
  • Access to a range of high street discounts including cinema, retail, gym membership etc.
  • 28 days holidays (inclusive of bank holidays) rising to 31 days with length of service.
  • Life assurance.
  • Discretionary profit share and bonus scheme.
  • Staff discount on our products and services.
  • Long service awards.

If you’re ready to take ownership of a key function in our business and help us deliver the best for our customers, we’d love to hear from you.
