Job summary

DPD Group UK is hiring a Transport Clerk to support the Traffic office, ensuring on-time driver arrivals and trailer movements across hub sites. You will perform licence checks, issue routes, and handle admin tasks to keep the operation efficient.

The role requires strong communication, data analysis skills, and the ability to work in a busy, outcome-driven team. Training and progression opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

• Track transport routes and ensure HGV drivers arrive for duties.
• Ensure trailers arrive at Hub sites as planned.
• Perform licence checks for agency drivers and stay compliant.
• Handle general admin: phone queries, route paperwork, maps.
• Issue routes to drivers and support Transport Shift Managers.
• Undertake comprehensive reporting and data analysis.

Job Description

Purpose of Position

As a Transport Clerk you will be part of the Traffic office team and are responsible for tracking our transport routes ensuring that our HGV drivers have arrived for duties and that trailers will arrive at our Hub sites as planned.

Key Tasks/Areas of Responsibility:

• Working with other departments such as Hub and Network Operations, Transport and Security ensuring that updates on arrivals or any issues are communicated as quickly as possible in order to keep our operation running smoothly
• Completing licence checks for agency drivers and ensuring we remain compliant in line with O Licence Regulations
• General administrative duties such as answering telephone queries, printing route paperwork and maps
• Issuing routes to drivers
• Assisting the Transport Shift Managers and Operations Managers with any further administration
• To undertake comprehensive reporting and data analysis.
