Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Transport Clerk for a full-time role in Central Birmingham. The position involves managing transport documentation, liaising with drivers, and ensuring compliance with transport legislation. Candidates must have previous experience in a transport office and a strong understanding of tachograph compliance. This is a temporary to permanent contract with a salary range of £28,000-£30,000 per annum based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Download and manage driver tachograph cards and vehicle unit data.
  • Debrief drivers daily and ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Compile and file transport documentation and records.
  • Schedule vehicle servicing and maintenance.
  • Liaise with drivers and management for operations.
  • Support transport planning activities as needed.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30-16:30

Salary: £28,000-£30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

About the Role

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Clerk to join a busy and well-established business based in Central Birmingham. This is a full-time, office-based role working day shifts, supporting the daily running of a fast-paced transport department.

Duties will include
  • Downloading and managing driver tachograph cards and vehicle unit data
  • Debriefing drivers daily and ensuring all paperwork and compliance requirements are completed accurately
  • Compiling, checking and filing transport documentation and records
  • Scheduling and monitoring vehicle servicing, maintenance, and MOTs
  • Liaising with drivers, workshops, and management to ensure efficient operations
  • Supporting transport planning activities when required
  • Maintaining compliance with transport legislation and company policies
