Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Test Lead to head the testing function for a large-scale transformation programme. The role involves defining the overall testing strategy, governance, and quality assurance across multiple workstreams and suppliers, with leadership of the testing team.

Extensive experience in Agile and Waterfall, complex environments, and cross-organisational testing is essential. BPSS/CTC clearance is required where applicable; remote with some office attendance.

Qualifications

• Degree educated, preferably within a technical, computing, engineering, or related discipline.
• ISEB/ISTQB Practitioner Certification in Software Testing (or equivalent).
• Experience leading testing within large-scale transformation programmes.
• Experience in multi-supplier environments and governance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, own, and maintain the Programme Test Strategy.
• Define testing approaches across the programme including manual, automated, integration, end-to-end, UAT, regression, and non-functional testing.
• Establish standards and governance for test planning, execution, reporting, and quality assurance.
• Define and maintain test RACI matrices and governance frameworks.
• Provide leadership to testing resources and recruit/manage Test Managers as needed.
• Oversee test planning across multiple projects and delivery paths.
• Ensure alignment of testing with milestones and delivery commitments.
• Review and approve all test artefacts (plans, scenarios, scripts, defect reports).
• Coordinate testing activities across organisations and suppliers; manage risk and issues.
