Job summary

AtkinsClarke Ltd in Milton Keynes is seeking a Transactional Finance Manager to lead the transactional finance function within a growth-focused, PE-backed business. The role covers AP, AR, credit control and treasury, with responsibility for cash flow forecasting and working capital management.

You will report to the Group Financial Controller, implement robust controls, optimise NetSuite, and build a scalable function to support ambitious expansion.

Qualifications

Transactional Finance Manager

OVERVIEW

AtkinsClarke are supporting a private equity-backed business with the appointment of a Transactional Finance Manager.

This is a key leadership role within a growing finance function, taking ownership of the transactional finance team and making sure it has the people, processes and systems in place to support the next stage of the business's growth. It will suit a hands-on manager who enjoys developing people and building a team that can scale with the organisation.

COMPANY

Our client is a c£40m turnover, private equity-backed organisation with a very solid and loyal customer base.

With ambitious growth plans over the next couple of years, the business is investing in its finance function to make sure it can support that journey. This appointment is a central part of that, giving the team clear leadership and a strong platform to grow from.

OPPORTUNITY

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you will lead the transactional finance function across accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control and treasury. You will be the go-to person for the team - setting standards, developing capability and making sure the function runs efficiently day to day, while continually looking for ways to improve how things are done as the business grows.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, managing and developing the transactional finance team
• Overseeing AP, AR, credit control and treasury activity
• Producing accurate cash flow forecasts and managing working capital
• Maintaining and strengthening financial controls and processes
• Making the most of NetSuite to drive efficiency and improve reporting
• Partnering with the Group Financial Controller to support business growth
• Building a scalable function that can keep pace with the organisation's ambitions

PERSON

We are looking for a people-focused finance manager who combines strong transactional finance knowledge with the leadership skills to get the best out of a team.

You will ideally bring:

• Proven experience managing and developing a transactional finance team
• Strong working knowledge of AP, AR, credit control and treasury
• Experience producing cash flow forecasts and managing working capital
• A practical, process-minded approach with a focus on continuous improvement
• NetSuite experience would be highly advantageous
• Experience within a PE-backed or growing SME environment would be beneficial

• Salary up to £65,000 plus benefits
