Behind it all is a team of ambitious VFXers who think like founders, never stop learning, and go the extra mile to help our clients succeed.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Transaction Monitoring Analyst to help strengthen VFX’s AML and CTF defences through high‑quality alert reviews and support for the continuous improvement of our transaction monitoring framework.

You’ll be responsible for reviewing alerts, identifying potential financial crime risks, and escalating suspicious activity where appropriate. Working closely with the Senior Transaction Monitoring Analyst and the MLRO, you’ll help ensure our monitoring systems remain effective, efficient, and compliant with regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities
Transaction Monitoring & Investigations
  • Review and analyse alerts to identify unusual or suspicious activity relating to money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, sanctions risk, or other financial crime indicators.
  • Conduct end‑to‑end investigations, producing clear and well‑reasoned summaries.
  • Escalate suspicious activity in accordance with internal procedures and support SAR decisioning.
  • Undertake thematic reviews across higher‑risk customer segments, jurisdictions, or product sets.
  • Maintain audit‑ready, comprehensive records of investigations and decisions.
System & Process Enhancement
  • Provide analytical feedback to support rule calibration, scenario tuning, and continuous optimisation of our monitoring environment.
  • Assist with documenting system changes and support model validation activities.
  • Contribute to strengthening workflows, controls, and departmental procedures.
Policy, Governance & Reporting
  • Apply VFX’s AML/CTF policies, escalation frameworks, and quality standards in all investigations.
  • Stay informed on relevant regulatory developments (MLRs 2017, POCA, TACT, FATF).
  • Support QA reviews, internal audit, and MI preparation as required.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with the Onboarding, Risk, and Relationship Management teams to ensure holistic assessment of client activity and risk.
  • Support the MLRO with reporting, insights, and trend analysis.
Candidate Profile
  • 1‑3+ years’ experience in transaction monitoring or financial crime within payments, fintech, banking, or another regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of AML/CTF typologies and behaviours across international payments and FX flows.
  • Experience working with monitoring or screening platforms (e.g., Comply Advantage, Actimize, Lexis Nexis, SAS).
  • Exceptional analytical judgment, attention to detail, and written communication.
  • Confidence operating in a fast‑moving environment with complex clients and high‑value transactions.

  • Flexible learning & development budget
  • Weekly events like Monday Supper Club, Thursday Happy Hour & regular socials

PSP & CSOP Details

At VFX, the biggest benefit is the opportunity to act like an owner. Through our Profit Share Scheme (PSP) and Company Share Option Plan (CSOP), every team member has a chance to own a stake in the business and share in the profits.

To show you what that looks like, in 2024, PSP participants received over $1,000,000 USD. From those distributions, more than 80% of eligible VFXers chose to become shareholders — a powerful reflection of the belief and commitment that drives VFX forward.

If you care about building something meaningful, take pride in your work, and are motivated by impact — you’ll thrive here.
