Grant Thornton UK is seeking an Associate Director for Transaction Advisory Services to lead a wide range of deals, including financial due diligence on buy-side and sell-side transactions for PE and corporate clients.

You will own senior client relationships at board level, originate new work, manage risk, provide technical leadership, oversee report production end-to-end and coach managers within the team. A professional qualification (ACA/ICAS/CA/ACCA or CIPFA) is required.

Job Description:

Every day our teams help people in businesses and communities to do what is right and achieve their goals. The Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team provides a broad range of advisory services to clients, primarily in a deals environment, including financial due diligence (FDD) and Strategy & Commercial Advisory (SCA).

As a member of the TAS team, you will be providing financial due diligence on both buy-side and sell-side transactions for private equity and corporate clients. You may also have the opportunity to work on public company transactions, primarily on AIM Market operated by the London Stock Exchange plc.

We are looking for an Associate Director. If you enjoy working on a wide-reaching range of projects that will help businesses and communities flourish, you’ll fit right in. Here are some things you can expect from this Associate Director role.

• Build and convert your own network of external contacts to originate new transaction advisory work, leading proposals and closing sales with minimal partner input.
• Own senior client relationships at board level, managing several complex accounts simultaneously and handling new work enquiries directly from intermediaries.
• Assess and manage risk across complex transactions, bringing in specialists where needed and overseeing engagement letters.
• Provide technical leadership on transactions, advising junior team members and developing solutions to increasingly complex issues.
• Oversee the report production process end-to-end, ensuring the final document reflects wider market context before reaching the client.
• Set fee estimates and manage assignment budgets, delivering work profitably with over 75% recovery of chargeable time and minimal WIP write-offs.
• Lead the presentation of findings and recommendations to clients, discussing implications and next steps.
• Coach and develop managers within the team, allocating resource effectively across live assignments.

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as a TAS Associate Director, the minimum criteria you’ll need is a professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA). Previous experience in Transaction Advisory ideally in the financial services sector or professional services.
