WORKING PATTERN
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (Term‑Time Only)
THE ROLE
This position involves delivering theoretical and practical Electrical Marine Engineering training, supporting learners through coaching, structured instruction, and assessment. You will contribute to the development of future engineering professionals by delivering high‑standard training modules, maintaining course materials, and ensuring compliance across the training programme.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver classroom and workshop‑based Electrical Marine Engineering training.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to support learner progression.
- Assess student coursework and practical tasks, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain and update all relevant lesson plans, training documentation, and assessment materials.
- Ensure all training meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices in training environments.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the training curriculum.
- Provide duty of care for trainees during all training activities.
- Support training scheduling, planning, and delivery coordination.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and learners.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- Solid practical and theoretical engineering experience, with competent hands‑on skills.
- Confident IT user, capable of integrating digital tools into training delivery.
- Strong communication and learner‑engagement skills.
- Must meet security clearance eligibility (5 years UK residency).
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior teaching or instruction experience (military or civilian).
- Level 4 Teaching Qualification or Defence Trainer Course (or equivalent).
- Experience within marine, defence, or engineering training environments.
WORKING PATTERN & BENEFITS
- Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Term‑time only (45 working weeks).
- Non‑working weeks: 2 weeks Christmas, 2 weeks Easter, 3 weeks August.
