Qualifications

  • Literate and possess strong communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy (knowledge of MOD systems).
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety, and safe systems of work.
  • Competent Boat Operator – CSB, RYA L2 Powerboat and VHF Radio Operator (preferred – training available).
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).

Responsibilities

  • Be the lead person, responsible for Water Safety Equipment including inspection, supervision, maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain the Units Combat Support Boats and Inflatable Safety Boats.
  • Support Visiting Unit training as a Safety Boat Operator.
  • Perform estate maintenance including painting and grass cutting.
  • Carry out Portable Appliance Testing on portable electric devices.

Job description

Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative to join our dedicated team supporting the Royal Engineers training operations. In this role you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train. We are looking for someone enthusiastic about working in an outdoor environment, dedicated to supporting the Military. Shifts run between: 08:00 – 16:30 from Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 13:00 Friday, with the additional possibility of core hours working when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the lead person, responsible for Water Safety Equipment (WSE) including clothing, life jackets inspection, supervision, maintenance and record keeping
  • Operate, maintain, clean and report faults on the Units Combat Support Boats (CSB’s) and Inflatable Safety Boats
  • Support Visiting Unit training, employed as a Safety Boat Operator
  • Assist with Boat related stores preparation and stocktaking
  • Carry out crane slinging operations when required
  • Perform estate maintenance (painting, pressure washing, strimming, grass cutting, and basic DIY)
  • Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on portable electric devices
  • Be prepared to work at other LSS Sites (including ranges) and attend training courses which involves stays away from home for the duration
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by your Team Leader or Manager
  • Comfortable working outdoors and ready for hands-on work and boat operation
Qualifications
