Advanced Technical Trainer – Construction Plant

Location: Cheshire

Salary: up to £39,000

Contract: 37 hours per week, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Advanced Technical Trainer to deliver high-quality training in Construction Plant Operations and Maintenance. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise and a commitment to developing the next generation of skilled professionals in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver advanced technical training programs for construction plant equipment.
  • Provide hands‑on instruction in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of plant machinery.
  • Ensure training meets industry standards and complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Keep training materials up-to-date with the latest technology and best practices.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to maintain relevance and quality of training.
About You
  • Proven experience working with construction plant machinery (e.g., excavators, loaders, cranes).
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, and mechanical systems.
  • Recognised teaching or training qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners of varying skill levels.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends.

All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
