Job description
Overview

The Trainer role is an integral part of the Training Team, proudly supporting Mitie in their objective to ensure new and existing colleagues are appropriately trained to fulfil the development and execution of strategies to ensure that all staff members are fully SQEP Trained. It is crucial to maintain current knowledge of policies, procedures, SQEP obligations, and Mitie requirements to maximize team competence.

Working in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, Ops Managers, QHSE Team and Mitie Group L&D team, the role requires individuals to work autonomously with passion to deliver the exceptional every day, being fully committed across the Cumbria Consortium Contract

Main Duties
  • To be an active member of the Training department, role modelling Mitie values, following Mitie principles and professional standards challenging behaviour that is not aligned.
  • Manage the completion of the Training Plan and the delivery of initial and refresher training, taking responsibility for ensuring adequate resource is maintained for all programmes.
  • Provide advice and guidance to operational managers and employees on training and competency issues, ensuring that operational managers are informed of their legal and company responsibilities and are competent to fulfil these obligations.
  • Deliver QHSE related training to cohorts of new and experienced colleagues to ensure best practice is embedded, compliance with all legislative and contractual is achieved and relevant Training assessments are completed
  • Participate in the training of team members facilitating ‘Upskilling' workshops
  • Use a variety of techniques to suit different learning styles, neurodiversity needs and individual special requirements
  • Work in collaboration with Training Co-ordinator to ensure that Training Records are utilised to maintain a record of individual training and assessments completed.
  • Assist with the design, development, review, and continuous improvement of bespoke learning packages, working in collaboration with key stakeholders to update and develop training materials in line with changes in process or policy
  • Promote career development and apprenticeships opportunities to support the Mitie Group apprenticeship strategy
What we are looking for
  • Delivery of internal QHSE Training and Site specific Training.
  • Accredited Level 2 & 3 Health & Safety Training. Or Equivalent to NEBOSH.
  • Experience and knowledge of working within a high risk environament or Training Team environment.
  • Experience in the use of a range of techniques to support training and development activities is required.
  • Relevant and industry recognised accreditations and qualification's e.g., Education and training qualification level 3.
  • Demonstrable ability to adapt behaviours, communication styles and approaches for differing groups of people.
  • Effective and clear written communication skills.
