Job summary

South West Recruitment Ltd in Chew Magna, Bristol is hiring a motivated Trainee Wireperson to join our production team. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided, offering hands-on development of specialist wiring and electrical assembly skills.

Your day-to-day includes learning wiring techniques, assembling and testing electrical components, and collaborating with colleagues to meet production deadlines in a clean, safe environment. Monday to Friday, 8am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in electrical or electronic assembly.
• Strong practical skills and a willingness to learn.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, or a technical subject (advantageous but not essential).
• Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or workshop environments is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

As a Trainee Wireperson, you will work alongside experienced professionals and be trained to:

• Assemble electrical control panels and components.
• Prepare, strip, crimp, and terminate cables.
• Fit electrical components and sub-assemblies.
• Conduct basic electrical testing and quality inspections.
• Utilize a variety of hand tools and assembly equipment.
• Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and housekeeping.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
