Job summary

3 Shires Group in Olney, Buckinghamshire, is seeking a Trainee Window Fitter / Service Engineer to learn on the job while supporting installation and service work for windows, doors and conservatories. You will join a friendly, family-run glazing business with a strong local reputation and ongoing training.

The role is full-time, 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, with travel up to 80 miles to client sites.

Qualifications

• No prior window fitting experience required; full training will be provided.
• Friendly, customer-focused approach, professional in homes/sites.
• Team player with diligence, practicality and attention to detail.
• Able to perform manual tasks and work outdoors in all weathers.

Responsibilities

• Install windows, doors, conservatories and related items.
• Handle service calls and remedial works.
• Undertake other works as required to support projects.

Trainee Window Fitter / Service Engineer

Core business includes the installation of windows, doors, conservatories, roof line drainage, thermal roofs, and small building projects.

Position: Trainee Window Installer / Service Engineer
Location: Olney, Buckinghamshire (will involve travel up to 80 miles to client sites)
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 8.00am to 4.30pm, Mon-Fri
Salary: Dependant on experience
Benefits: 28 days holiday per annum

Responsibilities:

• Install windows, doors, conservatories and other small building projects.
• Service calls and remedial works.
• Other works as required.
• Continual improvement to aid both efficiencies and customer satisfaction.

About You:

• No previous experience as a Window Fitter is necessary — full training will be provided to the right candidate.
• A friendly, customer-focused approach, comfortable representing the company professionally in customers' homes or on site.
• A team player who is hard working, diligent, logically minded and with a keen eye for detail.
• Someone who is competent with manual tasks. You may have experience or training in other trades.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling, working at height, and working outdoors in all weathers.
• Willing to work towards an MTC card or similar industry qualification if not already held (not essential, as this can be arranged).
