Description
Convex is looking for a graduate to join our Reinsurance Underwriting team who would love to help build the reinsurance portfolio of the future.
Given the rapidly developing landscape, the successful candidate is expected to participate in a wide range of tasks within the team and across the business. This role will include working closely with other teams within Convex such as Claims, Analytics (actuarial, pricing, etc.), Operations, Legal and Compliance.
As you develop into the role, some of the key tasks may include ...
- Build good working relationships with underwriting teams and ensure that underwriting management are regularly communicated with and kept up to date
- Support the Underwriting Support Assistant team who will be taking ownership of all aspects of the administration and referrals
- Learn and develop an understanding of the relevant line of business
- Pre‑underwriting calculations and work as directed by the underwriter
- Attend peer review meetings and participate in discussions on risks within the division. To ensure peer review packs/meeting preparation is completed and logged on the underwriting system
- Produce and collate data for business planning
- To manage the flow of bound risks received from the underwriters
- Run underwriting and MI reports as required
- To assist with recording all new business renewals
- To ensure all processing and credit control queries are answered within SLA time frames
- To provide general assistance to underwriters with all administrative duties
- To liaise with brokers upon request in addition to internal departments such as credit control, claims & compliance
- To work in conjunction with the booking and underwriting teams to ensure efficient working practices are in place e.g., identifying process improvements, providing feedback to reduce rework or errors and escalating any blockages to the team leader
- To be aware of the regulatory impact and ensure all underwriting activity is always within the guidelines
- To work within the Company’s code of conduct
