Job Title: Trainee Transport Operator

Location: Normanton

Hours of Work: Days Monday to Friday for 12 months whilst training, the 4 days on 4 off

Salary: A GBP 27,000

The Opportunity,

We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Traffic Operator to join our successful Transport department based in our Normanton Depot. As the Trainee Traffic Operator, you will be trained to be responsible for supporting our Transport Operators / Planners with the day to day operations.

Duties and Responsibilities,
  • Briefing and debriefing drivers
  • General office administrative tasks such as paperwork filing.
  • Assisting Transport planners
  • Monitoring daily trailer counts
  • Yard Checks
  • Actively seeking additional work wherever possible from Transport Planners and Management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the customer service teams and drivers
  • Working as part of an efficient and fast paced team
  • Maintain high standards of good housekeeping, including your workstation and environment
  • Maintain health and safety standards, and actively report observations and concerns
We Are Looking For Candidates Who Have The Following
  • Ability to work in a fast paced office operation, where targets and priorities can change quickly
  • Previous experience within Transport or similar environment : Preferred not essential
  • Good IT skills
  • Clear communicator : written and verbal
  • Highly personable and can work well in a team
  • Great attention to detail
  • A strong desire to build a long term career in a challenging and rewarding industry
  • Commitment to working collaboratively with others to deliver the highest levels of service
  • Flexible to work outside of normal working hours, as required by the business
