We are currently looking for trainee teaching assistants to work within Primary schools in the Ramsey area. The role will involve supporting children with additional needs on a small group or 1-1 basis. You will be required to assist children in accessing the work set by the class teacher, this will often involve working outside of the classroom environment and breaking tasks down to make them feel more achievable. These children will often struggle with emotional regulation and need the support of an adult who is calm, reassuring and can help the child feel settled, safe and motivated. The successful candidate will have a positive mindset and be flexible and reliable in order to help ensure consistency for the pupils.
This is a unique opportunity for anyone who is looking to get into working in schools, particularly within SEND. You will undergo additional training courses within SEND, such as Behaviour Management and Special Needs Awareness to help give you the background knowledge and head start that is needed.
You will be working from 8:30-15:30, Monday-Friday during term time. This is a full-time position.
