Teaching Assistants are instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of schools. The most effective Teaching Assistants have excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in supporting the day-to-day needs of children. They are also able to build positive relationships with staff, children and their families.
The role of a Teaching Assistant varies between schools. You may support the teacher during whole-class lessons, run small-group interventions or work on a one-to-one basis to ensure every child's needs are met and they can thrive.
