Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Trainee Teacher to support Autistic students and help implement a personalised curriculum. The role focuses on working 1:1 and in small groups, with a pathway to qualification as an Autism teacher over a 2-year training program.

Applicants should be available Monday-Friday 08:45-16:45, with part-time options for at least 3 days a week. The setting offers a calm environment and strong safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

• Experience working with learners with various SEN needs is desirable.
• Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher as per weekly/daily/seasonal plans.
• Work 1:1 with Autistic students.
• Provide group and individual activities planned by the teacher.
• Support learners in their structured work across curriculum areas.
• Support learners' wellbeing within the school environment.
• Help monitor and evaluate students’ learning under teacher guidance.
• Assist teachers in applying management strategies for a conducive learning space.

A team of caring, charismatic SEN workers are looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Teacher to join their team. This school has some amazing facilities that you are able to use alongside the students to help them with their development! You will be working 121 with Autistic students and helping to implement a personalised curriculum.

This setting supports primary and secondary aged pupils with Autism and associated needs. The setting is based on acres of land and has incredible resources. This school is recognised for its calm, purposeful atmosphere where every pupil is supported to succeed. Clear routines and gentle guidance help pupils feel secure. Pupils trust the school, processes set in place and the staff who support them and as a result of this trust pupils grow in confidence and independence.

Your start your career as a teaching assistant and over a 2 year period will join a training programme that will teach you the skills to become a Autism teacher.

Applicants must be available Monday-Friday 08:45-4:45pm. This is a term time only role. Part time applicants will be considered a minimum 3 days a week.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/seasonal planning
• Working 1:1 with students
• Providing group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
• Working individually with learners/students to develop work.
• Supporting the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
• Monitoring and evaluating students learning under the guidance of the teacher
• Assisting teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
• Supporting all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas

Key skills and experience needed:

• The ability to work with learners that have various SEN needs
• A willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
• Confidence to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects
• The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team
• Flexibility in their approach to education
• Experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential
• Right to work in the UK
