JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Supervise Lessons: Deliver pre-set work, ensuring students remain on task and focused on achieving the learning objectives provided by the absent teacher.
  • Manage the Learning Environment: Maintain good order and effective discipline within the classroom, ensuring a positive and safe atmosphere where learning can thrive.
  • Support Student Engagement: Actively circulate the classroom, encouraging students, responding to basic queries, and promoting independent learning.
  • Administer Resources: Take registers, distribute and collect resources, and report on student behaviour and any issues encountered during the lesson to the relevant teaching staff.
  • Trainee Focus: Actively engage in all induction, training, and professional development opportunities provided, viewing this role as a foundation for a career in education.
  • Reflect and Improve: Continuously develop classroom management and supervisory skills, actively seeking feedback to enhance practice and prepare for potential future teacher training.
