Responsibilities

  • Cover core legal activities in commercial contracts, procurement, compliance, and regulatory work.
  • Draft and review contracts, NDAs, service agreements, and internal policies.
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice on contract clauses and regulatory developments.
  • Participate in cross-departmental projects (HR, Finance, Operations).
  • Maintain a PEAT 2 record with evidence mapped to all outcome areas.

Duration: Two-year PEAT 2 traineeship

Salary: Law Society of Scotland Recommended Salary (2025)

Year 1: £26,500 (To be increased in line with minimum living wage requirements.)

Year 2: £28,850

Interocean is seeking a motivated Scots law graduate to join our in‑house legal and commercial team as a trainee solicitor. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the offshore energy and marine services sector, working closely with experienced legal counsel and commercial managers.

What you’ll do

  • Cover core legal activities in commercial contracts, procurement, compliance, and regulatory work
  • Draft and review contracts, NDAs, service agreements, and internal policies
  • Support and observe commercial negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice on contract clauses and regulatory developments
  • Participate in cross‑departmental projects (HR, Finance, Operations)
  • Attend business strategy meetings and gain commercial and financial awareness
  • Complete mandatory ethics and compliance training (including AML)
  • Maintain a PEAT 2 record with evidence mapped to all outcome areas
