Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a Trainee Shot Peen Operative within the Plating Shop department. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.

This Trainee Shot Peen Operative position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role the successful candidate will undergo comprehensive training to learn the skills and techniques required to operate shot peening equipment on aircraft landing gear parts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to start a career in the MRO industry and is eager to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities
  • Undergo comprehensive training to understand the principles of shot peen and grit blasting and the operation of shot peening equipment and understand technical drawings, working within EASA 145 standards.
  • Assist experienced shot peen operatives in the setup and operation of shot peening machines.
  • Learn to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine shot peening requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of shot peening equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in shot peening operation.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
Experience and Knowledge
  • Good knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • Previous experience of working in an Engineering environment.
  • Previous experience of working in Shot peening or Grit blasting environment (Desirable).

Shifts

4 days on, 4 days off. Must be available on weekends as pattern will fall into weekends.

Salary

Up to £29,374 salary (shift allowance included within this).
