Overview

Trainee Service Engineer – Filtration Equipment

Location: Tolleshunt DArcy, Essex (covering Chelmsford, Braintree, Colchester areas)

Responsibilities
  • Carry out servicing, routine maintenance, overhauls, commissioning, and training on filtration equipment across various industries.
  • Write detailed customer service reports with clear recommendations for clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and identify upselling opportunities.
  • Prepare quotations, liaise with customers, and manage purchase orders.
  • Maintain stock levels and manage order-specific parts using the company\'s ERP system.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities to expand the client base.
  • Contribute to marketing campaigns and service-related content as required.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Write risk assessments and method statements for all booked work.
  • Manage job bookings, including work diaries, admin tasks, and travel arrangements.
  • Support and provide guidance to team members as needed.
  • Attend training events, including annual sessions with the company\'s headquarters.
  • Travel across the UK, Ireland, and internationally, including overnight stays.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in engineering.

  • Organisational skills and the ability to remain motivated in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant experience or qualifications in mechanical engineering or field service work.
Job Details
  • Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week, plus overtime).
  • Basic salary of £25,440 per annum, with additional earnings from overtime and commission.
  • During the 12-month induction period, realistic earnings in excess of £32,000.
  • Once fully trained and with a growing client base, realistic earnings in excess of £50,000 per annum.
  • 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a discretionary Christmas shutdown.
  • Additional holiday accrued for overtime worked.
