A leading engineering manufacturer in Manchester is seeking a Trainee Service Engineer. In this workshop-based role, you'll assist with the installation and maintenance of bespoke mechanical systems. The ideal candidate has a mechanical or electro-mechanical background, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. This position offers between £30,000 - £35,000 along with additional benefits including overtime pay and healthcare.

  • Conduct basic fault finding on mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components.

Overview

Trainee Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer required to join a global, leading engineering manufacturer. The successful trainee will be responsible for the mechanical fitting, service, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of bespoke mechanical systems, predominantly containment systems for biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, medical device, and aerospace markets. This is a workshop based role in Stockport with worldwide travel and staying away when required (overtime and staying away allowances paid). Full product training provided.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the service, maintenance, and repair of containment isolators and associated mechanical systems.
  • Support installation, assembly, and commissioning activities at customer sites once fully trained.
  • Conduct basic fault finding across mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components.
  • Carry out mechanical assembly, airflow testing, FAT/SAT, and commissioning once trained.
  • Liaise with various engineering departments.
  • Workshop based in Stockport with worldwide travel and staying away when required (overtime and staying away allowances paid).

  • Mechanical or electrical qualification, degree, apprentice trained is advantageous.
