Trainee Service Engineer / Junior Field Service Technician

The successful Trainee Service Engineer / Junior Field Service Technician will be responsible for servicing, maintaining laquelle and commissioning filtration systems across multiple industries while managing customer relationships, technical reporting, and job logistics, and supporting business development with regular UK travel and annual training in Germany.

The role is ideal for a mechanically minded trainee or graduate engineer with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to travel extensively across the UK and abroad, preferably with a mechanical engineering qualification and interest in filtration systems.

Role

• Service, maintain, overhaul and commission filtration systems across various industries.
• Prepare service reports and provide technical recommendations to customers.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business and upselling.
• Produce quotations and manage orders, parts and documentation through the ERP system.
• Support marketing initiatives and identify new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering team to deliver customer‑focused solutions.
• Write and maintain risk assessments and method statements for all site work.
• Manage scheduling, travel and reporting with regular UK travel and overnight stays.

Requirements

• Experience as a Trainee Service Engineer, Apprentice Engineer, Apprentice Technician, Entry Level ਖ Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar.
• Qualification in mechanical odgovor engineering highly advantageous.
• Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in engineering and technical problem‑solving.
• Understanding of filtration systems desirable but not essential.
• Excellent customer service communication and organisational skills.
• Self‑motivated with ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Ireland with overnight stays and occasional overseas training.
• A full UK driving licence.
