A local healthcare provider in Alnwick is seeking a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. This role involves delivering low intensity psychological therapies within a supportive multidisciplinary team while completing academic requirements at Teesside University. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be motivated to develop their clinical practice. An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Northumberland Talking Therapies to appoint a cohort of Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to be based within the Northumberland area and study through Teesside University.
The post will involve office based working. This is a Northumberland wide post, the primary base is likely to be either Morpeth, Blyth or Cramlington but you may be expected to travel to other bases around Northumberland.
The post will include one evening shift per week.
Progression from a Band 4 to a Band 5 will be dependent on you successfully completing the course. If you are unsuccessful at completing the course unfortunately your employment contract will be terminated.

You will be required to meet the demands of balancing a high caseload whilst completing the academic components of the role. You will work towards a Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Therapies and attend University each week. You will work within the service for the days not at university.

This service has been developed by NHS Northumberland CCG, was shaped by patients and clinicians together, building on comments and ideas put forward by service users and benefits thousands of patients across Northumberland.
The post holder will be provided with regular clinical and case management supervision. Becoming a Trainee PWP offers an exciting opportunity to train in delivering low intensity psychological therapies within a multidisciplinary and innovative team. The post-holder will support individuals aged 16+, from a variety of cultural backgrounds and should be committed to equal opportunities. They must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, as well as show initiative, and be committed to developing clinical practice and knowledge within this role.
