Job description

Job Title: Trainee Production Operative

Division/Department: Packaging

Reports to: Shift Manager

Pay Rate: £13.20 per hour

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off — 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am (2 days on each)

Job Purpose

To quality check bottles as they come off the production line and ensure the finished products are packed and wrapped securely according to company standards and requirements. Products should then be loaded on pallets, correctly labelled, and prepared for shipping. The role also involves maintaining safety, hygiene, and quality procedures at all times.

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Inspect and identify any defective items before they are packed and shipped to customers.
  • Ensure correct pack loading configuration.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately.
  • Perform regular quality checks as per instructions.
  • Report any faults immediately to the Shift Manager.
  • Ensure all products are labelled correctly with accurate product codes and pallet counts.
  • Support Production Operators to maintain consistent output and quality.
  • Assist Warehouse and Production teams as required.
  • Store products in the correct areas and process efficiently on a daily basis.
  • Follow company Health and Safety policies.
  • Maintain hygiene and quality standards.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized at all times.
  • Adapt to day-to-day operational changes affecting efficiency.
  • Attend relevant training as directed by the Shift Manager.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure smooth machine operation.
  • Undertake any reasonable requests from the Shift Manager.
  • Support ongoing improvement within the department.
  • Take on additional duties as required to meet business needs.
  • Comply with all company procedures, policies, and work instructions.
